Join Morey's Piers for the second annual Souper Sunday Chowder and Chili Cook Off on Sunday, September 30, 2012. Join the fun and excitement as talented chefs from throughout the tri-state area compete for the glory of the BEST CLAM CHOWDER & CHILI awards.

The atmosphere will be festive and fun as contestants prepare their finest ingredients outdoors along Mariner's Landing for spectators and taste testers. The competition features two divisions for each Chili and Clam Chowder.

Plaques will be awarded in each division for BEST CLAM CHOWDER and BEST CHILI as well as the Guests' Choice. Best overall wins $500 cash and of course BRAGGING RIGHTS!

Each team receives with entry: Two all-day unlimited rides passes to Morey's Piers (a $98 value) and of course the opportunity to cook your most prized recipe for judges and guests to decide who makes the best Chili and Chowder!

Cook Off Schedule

  • 8:00 A.M. Check-in and set-up cooking areas. No early check in.
  • 10:00 A.M. Cooks' meeting
  • 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. Preparation period
  • 11:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. Cooking period
  • 1:00 P.M. Public tasting begins
  • 1:30 P.M. Judging begins
  • 2:45 P.M. Deliver Guests' Choice and Taste Tickets buckets to Event Central under the Morey's Piers Archway
